A Handmade Warm Christmas

Found this gorgeous dessert buffet via The Sweetest Occasion from a trio of talented ladies from Italy.  I love the homespun and plentiful feel of this arrangement.  There are soo many ideas to pick from this.  There are lacy embroidered iced sugar cookies, perfect balls of yarn poking out of speckled rock, looms of crocheted lace hanging from delicate branches,  jars of delicious homemade treats with little red hearts sewn on top, raspberry dotted cupcakes, milky white truffles nestled in egg crates, and stockings adorning a rustic ladder.  And what's best is that everything, from the food styling, to the placement breathes 'homemade'.  It's just waiting for you to reach in and take a bite.

Gearing up for New Years, cue the sparkle and horns!

I recognize that glitzy swag up there! It's Confetti System!
I look back at the year and feel like everything rushed by in a whoosh.  We're already getting ready for New Years!!  I love the sophisticated look of this dessert table by LeCupcakerie .  It's absolutely STUNNING.  My favorites are the onyx black caramel truffles and the bowtie champagne glasses.  I love how it's the perfect balance of whimsy and class.
They look like precious stones!  Even better that they're filled with chocolate!
Dressed and ready to celebrate!
Oh my gosh do you see the gold and silver truffle gems! Awesome! I want one!

Happy Monday! {Feature!}

It was soo wonderful to find this inspiration board from Sweet T Studios .  I LOVE the taupy golds, grays, and slates of this.  Check out the photo on the bottom center.  My snowflakes!!!  Special thanks to Anders Ruff for allowing me to use this photo of my snowflakes.  Such a beautiful shot of them!

Currently Working On......

A printable bunting for the shop!!  I've been wanting to do this for such a long time.  Birthdays are often celebrated with just a simple 6" cake with some little design on top.  I've always wanted to add something that gives it a larger than life look.  More height, more wow!  This bunting gives it just that.  And it looks great with just a touch of sugar flowers.

Currently working on......

A tablescape idea to help showcase some of my sugar things.  It's not much right now, I'm trying to place the bowls first.  Fingers crossed!!!
Okay so maybe I should iron out that tablecloth before I set stuff on it.

Happy Monday!!!

Despite the California rain and the achy joints, I sip my cup of coffee and present to you these joyful photos from Joycie and Steven's wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes .  The photography is quaintly nostalgic and ethereal and the energy is purely festive and, for lack of a better word, joyous!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this wedding invitation!!

A Blushing Pink Christmas

I took my daughters out to the Borders Bookstore here in our town on a particularly boring day.  Elena, my little 4 year old squealed in delight when she saw a full length PINK Christmas tree, all ready for the decorating.  "Please Mommy, can we please have a pink Christmas tree??!"  Elena pleaded.  I laughed.  It would be cute.  I love pink!  But we already had a white one from last year that we ought to make more use of.  So to indulge a little, I'm putting up a few pink trees.  Maybe I can talk the husband into a pink tree next year!

From Blueprint Magazine.  I LOVE the bubbly oversized ornaments in juxtaposition to the gold and silver presents

Accentuate an ultra feminine pink with lacy details!  Wrap a bit of lace around ornaments you already own.  This photo courtesy of Design Is Mine
If you have a white tree, give it some pink!  I love this one.  This one is from Making Arrangements Blog

Wafer paper hydrangeas and some fondant hydrangea singles.  I'm trying to make a nice, budget friendly version of my favorite shop flowers....

{{APPRECIATION!}} Red Charm Peonies! & A Charming Wedding

Teresa, a great customer of mine just sent me a photo of her wedding cake.  I was so happy to see it looking soo fine on such a well styled, colorful confection!  Her peonies were one of the first I had ever done for the shop and it was hard for me to let them go because they were so perfect.  You may have seen them around the shop before, here are some pictures I shot before I packaged them.
Red peony!! It's available in the shop HERE
She also requested some filler flowers.  So we settled on some jasmine and lily of the valley.  So dainty!
I was so very grateful everything arrived at Teresa's in great condition.  She was hopeful that they could be arranged well on the cake.  So, without further ado, here is a small photo of the cake:
Look at the two little love birds in the front of it!  How cute!  She had them on her invitations so she asked the decorators to incorporate them tastefully on the cake.  Turned out very elegant!  And did you know she hand glued all of the Swarovski crystals onto the letters of the cake topper?   The center letter even has a 2 color design on it. Such a pretty little labor of love indeed!
Here is a photo of the happy couple. Congrats, guys!
Thanks so much Teresa for sharing your day with me!! So glad to be a part of it!

Happy Monday!!

Hope you all had a good weekend!  Mine was extremely busy.  My parents always host the dinner so Mom usually asks me to help out with cooking.  And she usually always tells me to bring dessert.  This year I decided to go with a rich chocolate cake with a ganache filling and cream cheese frosting.
Now, on to Christmas!

{{GIVEAWAY}} SimplyB Stationery!! 3 POSSIBLE WINNERS this week!

I've raved about SimplyB Designs before so it's quite obvious that I am absolutely thrilled to offer this giveaway this week.  (Check out the rave here.)  I was fortunate enough to receive a pack of Airmail cards from SimplyB and I was absolutely floored to see how neatly packaged everything was.  It came in a little sleeve with just a perfect piece of twine and a neat little card.  As I said in my other post "Everything about it felt professional but down-to-earth".

Just in time for Christmas, Roi Lai is offering a collection of vintage inspired stationery with a little bit of old school cuteness thrown in.  One thing that I love about her products is that they're unfussy and straight-forward, like a perfectly thought-out essay.

Check out her shop on Etsy HERE.
I love the cute little penmanship lines on this "Dear Sant Clause" card

Effortless chic is demonstrated here with just a pair of Christmas things smartly used as just an accent.

My favorite colors of grey and yellow trims this beautiful calling card

Easily one of my favorites!! A simple little card with personalized 'old school handwriting'.  Beautiful nostalgia is in the details!

Care to see more? Check out all these great designs now available in her shop

So this week, we're giving away a pack of Christmas notecards for 3 different winners! (So if Random.Org decides to like you twice or thrice, we'll re-roll the generator until we get a different 2nd and 3rd winner.  Yes, you only win once)
